Some time ago tall claims by a leading footwear company landed it in the bad books of some US Regulatory Body and also lead to a hefty payout. If it were India, I am sure
this would have seemed like a Joke! I mean, with due respect to the
advertisements in India (some of which are not only entertaining but also brilliantly executed) many of
the advertisement claims are not just untrue but totally outrageous!
Which makes me wonder how do they even get clearance at first place!
What is more surprising is that people (educated one also) tend to fall for these surveyed and scientific claims without checking the authenticity. Take the case of drink that claimed to increase 2 inches to the height of children. Or the case of fairness - Skin lightening creams! These products are fairly truthful and still people fall prey to these!
Anyways, let me not get into the justification of the claims and assume for a moment that all the claims are true. Our life will be totally different and better. (In fact it will affect so many industries adversely or open up doors to lots of promising business ideas).
1. Anti-Aging and Fairness products:
2. Dental hygiene:
Dentists will have to switch to some other profession or take up manufacturing of the toothpastes, tooth gels and other such oral care products! After all, do we need Dentists when we have such awesome products that give us Chamakti Safedi and Majboot dant, and not to forget Fresh Breath?
3. No more bridge cranes! Just Long & strong hair:
Your long and strong hair is enough to pull a truck. Why waste money on Cranes? Especially during monsoon, this can help pull out lot of vehicles/things/people from the not-so-big holes on the roads!
4. Wings transport:
A popular energy drink gives you wings. So who needs any other transport means! Just get these energy drinks and fly anywhere! That means no more traffic jams or construction work going year around. Phew!!!
5. The missing part of the cent percentage:
Anyways, once we return to reality, we know none of this happens/is going to happen. But, Nevertheless most of things we do are driven by Advertisements. To conclude, they say a true salesman is the one who can sell a refrigerator to the Eskimos! I would say our ads truly live up to this!

1. Anti-Aging and Fairness products:
Who needs bo-tox or plastic
surgery when all you need is a simple daily application of Anti Aging
cream! Combine this with fairness/skin lightening products and anyone
can become young and beautiful! Who needs beauty salon??

5. The missing part of the cent percentage:
As you might have noticed, majority of the claims are less than 100%.
So, if anyone were to come up with a formula to treat the missing per
cent, that would be like a dream come true. (And of course, inventor would rake in millions!) Imagine this, a shampoo claims to cure
hair fall issues only up to 95% and then comes a product which takes care
of the rest of 5%!!! Wow, total cure for hair fall! Though on a flip side, it would lead to closing down many of hair treatment clinics. But lets just focus on the brighter side.
